Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026. This policy covers imagingboards.com and the ImagingBoards app for iPhone and Android (together, "ImagingBoards"). ImagingBoards is operated by ImagingBoards LLC, Florida, USA ("we", "us").
- We collect only what we need to run your account and membership: your email, your login, and your plan status.
- Your study progress (flashcards, reviewed guides, lesson settings) stays on your device.
- No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics trackers, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app or at imagingboards.com/delete-account.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose a password, a password that is stored only in encrypted (hashed) form by our login provider. You can also sign in with a one-time email code or with Google; if you use Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We don't receive your Google password.
Membership and payment information
If you buy a membership on our website, payment is handled by Stripe (including Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe). Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and never reaches us. We receive your plan, its status (for example active or cancelled), the amount, and basic billing details Stripe provides, such as the last four digits and expiry of your card and your billing country or ZIP code.
If you buy a membership inside the app, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive a purchase receipt or transaction ID and the product you bought so we can unlock your membership. We don't receive your payment card details.
Information stored on your device
The site and app save your study progress and preferences in your browser or device storage, for example flashcard results, which study guide cards you've marked reviewed, lesson and reader settings, and your study-reminder time. This stays on your device; we don't upload it. Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes it. On the website, a service worker caches pages and images so studying works offline.
Notifications (app)
The app can show a daily study reminder. It's a local notification scheduled on your phone; we don't run a push server and don't collect a device token. You can change or turn off the reminder in the app or in your phone's settings.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically processes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser downloads them. Our login provider (Memberstack) uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in. Text-to-speech ("Listen") uses the voices built into your device or browser; some browsers may use the browser maker's online voices.
What we don't collect
We don't use advertising, ad networks, cross-app tracking, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. We don't use analytics or session-recording tools. If that ever changes we'll update this policy first.
2. How we use information
- Create and secure your account, sign you in and send login codes or password-reset emails.
- Check your membership and unlock paid content.
- Process payments, cancellations and refunds through Stripe, Apple or Google.
- Answer support requests you send us.
- Send important account or service messages. We'll only send marketing email if you opt in, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Keep the service working, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run ImagingBoards for us, and only what each needs:
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Memberstack | Accounts, login, membership | Email, name (if given), hashed password, plan status |
| Stripe | Website payments | Payment and billing details |
| Apple / Google | In-app purchases, Google sign-in | Purchase receipts; Google profile if you use Google sign-in |
| Netlify | Website hosting | IP address, request logs |
| Google Fonts | Fonts | IP address |
| Namecheap Private Email | Support email | Messages you send us |
We don't sell your personal information and don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (you'd be notified).
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your account record is deleted from our login provider. Payment records kept by Stripe, Apple or Google, and records we must keep for tax or legal reasons, are retained as the law requires. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and keep basic business records.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access or correct: update your email and password under Account, or email us.
- Delete: delete your account in the app (Account › Delete account) or at imagingboards.com/delete-account.
- Copy: email us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Notifications: turn off the study reminder in the app or your phone's settings.
Depending on where you live (for example California or other US states with privacy laws, the EU or the UK) you may have further rights, including to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. We'll answer requests within 30 days and won't treat you differently for using your rights.
6. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed by our login provider and card data is handled by Stripe, Apple or Google. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
7. Children
ImagingBoards is made for radiologic technology students and working technologists. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
8. Educational use
ImagingBoards is study material for registry exams. It isn't medical advice and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT®).
9. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let members know by email or in the app.
